Baby's Got Book

song pairing: Cafe by Cafe del Mar

Just loving these photos by Candida Hofer.
She photographs mostly European libraries minus the public.

and how

Her photography captures the
quiet beauty and serenity
found within

 Oh the smell of

old leatherbound books
&
the faint echo of creaking chairs

Libraries feed the curious
and as long as you're curious
you will always be young

of course she also has more than libraries in her body of work ....

Check out this dining room

Libraries are truly one of my favorite things in life ~ each time I visit a new city, the library is the first thing to see on my list!

Wow, I do adore libraries. You can almost feel the pulse of knowledge when you enter, especially one of those inspired spaces. Stunning!

You always find the most interesting finds and I love these library shots. What a inspiring subject to capture and she is most talented. And clever too.

Those photos have to be some of the most beautiful photos I've seen in recent times...gorgeous. The libraries are like museums that I would visit to not only read, but to go on a "tour." That dining room that seats a million people is out of this world. I'm thinking if it seats that many people how did I not get an invite for the last gathering!

I love the title of this...baby's got book! hilarious!
my favourite smell in the world is the Preston Royal Library near where I grew up. I can't describe it, but I'll never forget it. It's still there, I need to go back and visit. My friend had a mahjongg set that smelled just like it. When she opened it I gasped and shouted "Preston royal library!!" YOur images though are absolutely gorgeous.
