Out of a Dream ...

Once upon a time, ( a few months ago ) I had a dream
about a day at the beach Santa Cruz,
a place I spent many summers as a little girl.
In this dream, a huge marquee seahorse character appeared.
He winked at me and swam away.
( insert lightbulb moment here )
I woke up and immediately grabbed some paper made a sketch and filed it away.
"Someday maybe I will make this" I thought

But this idea just kept knocking and knocking
( and getting louder and louder ).

I knew I had to make it or it would just drive me crazy.

So here he is ... my dream seahorse

Tell me about your dreams ...

have they ever caused you
to do something consciously ?

I would love to know !

Yes, but I can't tell it until I return from Paris in September. You seahorse is amazing Lisa and along with the fish swimming (music) it sends me to another dream like place today. XO

Love it, it certainly looks like something out of an amazing dream.

Once in a while, when I turn our little corner in town it smells just like those old Santa Cruz days from childhood... salt air, french fries & sand. It truly takes me back, I can almost hear the screams from the Giant Dipper.

Beautiful post, beautiful music ~ thanks Lisa!

Tracie, you too ? The smell of coppertone takes me there everytime too ! I even found a perfume called "at the beach 1966" .... smells just like sand and coppertone !

So this is what your were facebooking about!! I L*O*V*E* it. I find Marquee type signs so nostalgic & romantic. What a incredible story Lisa. Sadly I recall dreams of leaving my horrible, abusive marriage to find a kind, gentle European man..it came true! But like your vision, it came with a lot of work too. Congrat's to you. I would love to purchase one of your creations some day. All my best xoxo deb

Hi, my first time here via Bedlam of B. Love your blog, but specially love the seahorse, whose shape I have always found pleasing. Amazing to be so directly inspired by a dream.
