Just Adoring ... Domergue

I just recently stumbled upon some
exquisite portraiture and illustrations
by Jean-Gabriel Domergue
(French 1889 - 1962 )

He coined himself " the first pinup artist"

Only the most privelaged women in society could afford to commission a portrait ...

Madame O'Deril 1930

Mrs. Heathcote

Woman With Greyhounds 1930

PS. Thank you for adding me to your blogroll. That is very kind of you! Especially when I see what company is in it.

what a great look...timeless & current, even with the garb of the day. there is a crispness mixed in with a dreamy quality that is so compelling. thanks for bringing Domerque to my attention--how did I miss not knowing about him for all these years!?? I love how you surround yourself with these iconic visuals...please continue to share them with us!
