Soaking It In

This morning's walk in the warm Austin sun and slight sunburn on my shoulders
remind me of this sublime painting by Michael Carson

( who is quickly becoming one of my favorite contemporary artists )

"Girl On Black Towel"

Whatever the weather wherever you are
I hope you are soaking in something beautiful this weekend !

Greetings From The Big Top !

song pairing : Roustabout by Beats Antique

Well if my lack of posts was any indication
it's been, I have to say
looking a little like this
around here the last week ...

Circus Scene painting by Alexander "Sandy" Calder
( an anniversary gift to his sister in 1926 )

Isn't this a wonderful painting ?
Ever since I saw it in person in NY
it has remained my all time
favorite
( This picture doesn't do it justice ... it's huge in person ! )

Maybe it reminds me of our life a little
( crazy yes, but there's always music at least one person smiling ! )

Well today and tomorrow...
the clowns are gone & the elephants have cleared
and I am regrouping the house and returning it to 'normal'

whatever that is !

And since I've been thinking about this painting,
I'm kind of circus inspired
...
I found this site called unearthed
and fell in love with these antique circus items !
.........

What a cool side table this circus stand would make ...

this costume would be so fun hanging somewhere too ...

or how about this carnival wheel ?

these juggling pins ...

or these carnival pins and balls ?

What fun !

Oh dear
I'm getting some ideas ....
I'd love to redo some things around here
* Whoa Nelly !*
1st things 1st
I have to clear the rings and get ready
for another week of 'performing' !
( am I the only one who feels this way ? )

and  a  5  6  7  8  ...

So what are your plans

Are you sitting back and enjoying
the show

or performing amazing feats of
skill and bravery ?

All in All
I hope it is a
most spectacular weekend !!!

See you again this week !
