Mental Tango

song pairing:  Tango in Harlem by Touch and Go

Just a quick hello and update from the House of Golightly
We are busy preparing the finishing touches for another print collection,
prepping for this Sunday's Alameda,
(and sadly, learning my mother has been diagnosed with cancer)
Waiting for more test results and working on deadlines
has my mind whirling and twirling
( and not in the most effective way )

I'm dreaming about transporting to NYC
for just one Tango
A mini mental vacay on a warm summer evening
in Central Park is just what I need to clear some clutter

Tango in Central Park really does take place
and right now, that sounds so divine !

I stumbled upon this NYC tradition last time I was there
Every Saturday there are free Tango lessons
at the William Shakespeare statue

It does a heart good to see people
from all walks of life, age and abilities
setting aside life's distractions
forgetting their troubles
&
losing themselves to the music.
I am sure they go back to life's daily grind with a fresh perspective

it's a very sweet and poetic sight

Ok. ( click click click ) Time for me to wake up and get back to it !

For now, I  bid you adieu

~ Thank you for the dance ~

Until next time,
I wish you a music filled twirly Monday !
& If I'm not back soon, send someone to find me ! ;)

Ciao !

Greetings LG,
I pray your mother is doing well and all is well with you.
Love your thoughts on Tangoing in the park, I love to take a picnic basket and a soft blanket to the Parthenon here in Nashville and watch films in the park.
You have to adore summer!
Things are going to get better, promise.
Hang in there, cheers!

Isn't that just about the most lovely thing ever! It's nice to have a place to "go" when the stress of the life is too great. Wishing your mother well.

Hi Lisa,
I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom's news... please know that you are both in my loving thoughts and prayers and will continue to be there over the course of this challenging time. I think it's very healthy of you to want to go Tango in NYC... I can't think of a better way of dealing with everything you have on your plate at the moment. I promise I will come by and give you the biggest bear hug at The Point on Sunday :)
Much Love,

Terri

Oh! Tango! I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina (though live in the US) so tango is my life! Love your blog. I found it through Ashlina's. I'll be following. Sorry to hear about your mother. Wishing your mother health and strength.
