Switching Hats

August Alameda Antiques Show ... check
( read Claudia's of The Paris Apartment's post here ! )

Painting Collection ... check
acrylic and plaster on burlap 2ft x 3ft each
( prints available Jan '11 )

Now 100% of my focus will be spending time with my sweet 88 yr old mom
as she begins her first round of chemo today.
Not the hat I would have chosen to wear
but I guess we all do at some time in life

My apologies for lack of posts the last week

A lot of unknown for my next few days
I will be back as soon as I can

Kiss and hug the ones you love
( & often )

xoxo

It will be a great comfort that you are holding your Mom's hand through her treatments. Will be thinking of you and hope all goes well. Much love XO

Good luck. It's so hard to deal with a loved one who is sick, and yet so purposeful to do the best you can to love them with all your heart.

Lisa, your priorities are absolutely in the right place and no apology is ever needed for that. She's in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong!

Hello Lisa,
Wishing you all of the best while devoting yourself to being with your Mother right now. Holding good thoughts for you and your family right now. The best medicine is indeed somebody you love by your side, this has more power than any chemo treatment.
Much Love to you!

Lisa, I am glad you can spend time with your mother, I could not be there for my dad. That time together is important, and don't forget humor.... it helps, even inappropriate humor. My favorite quote is "When you're going through hell, keep going." from Winston Churchill, so remember, "keep going."

Prayers and warm thoughts go out to you...
If you are anything like her, I would say that she is a woman of vision and strength, and will rise above :)

Oh Lisa, I am so sorry I haven't been over to see you...
Please know that you are the perfect person/daughter to go on this journey with your precious Mother. I know in the end that this will be a very meaningful and spiritual experience for the two of you and that tremendous growth and understanding will come from it. Please, please promise me that if you need a break that you will call me up and come stay with me for a few days of fun and escape. You deserve it... don't forget that. In the meantime, you and your Mom and family will all be in my loving thoughts and prayers. God Bless you Lisa Golightyly. I love you!!!!!!!!!!
XO

best wishes to you and your mom...your priority is certainly to her! the fact that you are caring for your mother will only make her recovery that much smoother (trust me, it makes a difference).
